MY STORY
My story as a Film Editor started in 2008 with Giuseppe Bertolucci's 'Officinema' course on Film Editing at the Cineteca di Bologna.
Since then, I moved to London in 2010 and have worked successfully across all film genres, from drama and documentary to comedy and animation, with a talented range of collaborators including Joy Wilkinson, Victoria Thomas, Matt Hill, Petra Korner, Martyn Pick, Maria Martinelli, Amit Gupta, Catherine Yass, Bill Thomas, Lorenzo Renzi, Franz Pagot, Emma Miranda Moore, Ed Bignell and many others.
I just finished working for Jellyfish in the edit team for Dog Man, a Dreamworks animated feature film that will be out in January 2025.
The latest film I've cut, '7 Keys', directed by Joy Wilkinson and produced by Cassandra Sigsgaard and Dylan Rees for Jeva Films, had its world premiere at SXSW, its UK premiere at FrightFest, and was in the official selection at Dinard Film Festival.
My previous feature Redenzione (Redemption), directed by Maria Martinelli for Kamera Film, was in the official selection at the 40th edition of Turin Film Festival in 2022. Before that, a feature I edited called ‘Trouble Will Find Us’, directed by Alex Milo Bischof, won Best UK Feature at Manchester Film Festival ’21.
Other recent work includes: "That Night", directed by Emma Miranda Moore, which premiered at Palm Springs Short Fest, was in the official selection at Hollyshorts, The Shortest Nights, Bolton FF, Exit 6 (where I was nominated for Best Editor); "No One Is An Island", directed by James McKay and David Bunting, which is in the official selection at Cambridge Film Festival, This is England Film Festival; "The Draft", directed by Raphaela Wagner, which won Best Sci-Fi film at London Independent Filmfestival and Imagine This womens film festival NY; "Uncaged", directed by Molly Vandermeer and Saman Khan, which won Best Editing at the Surrey Short Film Festival; the BFI-funded films “Re-Live”, directed by Lotus Hannon and “A Birthday Party”, directed by Victoria Thomas, which premiered at Vancouver International Women in Film Festival and the documentary 'Titian - Behind Closed Doors', directed by Matthew Hill for BBC2.
‘Run’, a short film I cut in 2020, directed by Emma Miranda Moore, got selected for LSFF, FlickerFest (Academy qualifying) and Manchester Film Festival, amongst many others. An Italian short film I worked on, ‘La musica nell'anima’, was longlisted for a David di Donatello (Italian version of BAFTAs).
I was nominated in the Best Editor category at Underwire Festival 2018 for my work on ‘SWARM’. Directed by Emma Miranda Moore, the short was also an official selection at the BAFTA recognised Aesthetica Short Film Festival (ASFF). Another of the short films I cut, ‘Lit’, won the Main Award at Depict! at Encounters Film Festival 2019, while an Italian short film I edited, ‘La Musica Nell'anima’, was long-listed for a David di Donatello award.
I became a full voting BAFTA member in 2023, joined AMC in 2024, and in 2020 I was appointed Governor of the Board of BFE (British Film Editors), and have since then been organising a series of online events 'A Virtual Glass of Wine with...', with guests such as Una Ni Dhonghaile, John Grover, Celia Haining, Tony Kearns, Colin Goudie, Axel Geddes, Skip MacDonald, Yorgos Mavropsaridis, John Venzon, Chris Wyatt, Joel Cox...
